This takes in much of Surrey, Sussex, and parts of London, including our valued customers in Cobham, Guildford, Horsham, Leatherhead, Purley, and beyond. Whether you need a simple garage extension, or a dormer loft conversion, we are the loft conversion and extension company for you.

What County Conversions can do for you

With our team of experienced conversion experts, we have much to offer our customers across the South East. Here are some of our more popular services.

Loft conversions in the South East

From our main office in Horsham, we provide essential loft conversions to customers all over the South East. Whether you’re looking to create a new bedroom, setting up a home study, or a games room, we can help. Our team will work with the dimensions of your loft space to come up with something that’s appealing and functional.

Dormer loft conversions in the South East

If your current loft space suffers from a low ceiling a dormer loft conversion could be the solution you need. Designed to extend through the roof, where it is then capped off, a dormer loft conversion increases headspace for you. This gives you many more options when it comes to converting your loft or attic space.

Garage extensions in the South East

While we are a loft conversion company, we don’t stop at lofts. We have the practical skills and technical know-how to add rooms to your property, as well as refurbish them. Garage extensions are particularly popular with many customers across the South East. This allows them to protect their vehicles and improve their property at the same time.

House extensions in the South East

Like our garage extensions, our house extensions are designed and constructed to the same high standards as our loft conversions. No matter what kind of extension you require, our team of dedicated and professional workers are up to the task. With plumbers, electricians, carpenters, bricklayers, and plasterers on board, you know you’re in safe hands.

Why choose County Conversions?

With over twenty years’ experience between our team of loft, garage and house converters, there are plenty of reasons to choose us. Here are some of the more common ones given by our customers to date.

County Conversions - Better by design

When you first contact County Conversions, we will arrange a meeting between you and our design team. They will look at your current loft space to get a sense of the area and take some measurements. They will then chat with you about what you want from your new conversion. From here, they will be able to create a design for you that is unique. This will be hand-tailored to meet your specific requirements.

A loft conversion company you can trust

At County Conversions, we have a permanent crew of professional tradesmen working for us. We know them all well, as they are the heart of our business. We ensure that they are fully-trained and equipped to handle any loft conversion job that might be put before them. In this way, you can be sure that every project we take on is guaranteed to meet a certain standard. This is your guarantee of excellence throughout the loft conversion process.

Experienced loft, garage conversion experts

Founded in 2020, we are a new name in the local loft, garage and house conversion industry. That does not mean we are lacking for experience – quite the opposite. We have a talented and dedicated team of professional loft extension professionals working for us. Between them, they have more than 20 years of experience in this industry. Joinery, plumbing, electrics, plastering, and more – whatever skill your loft conversion requires, we can meet it, every time.

Your local loft conversion company

We are based in the beautiful West Sussex village of Broadbridge Heath, in Horsham. We are proud of our association with Horsham itself, the county of West Sussex, and the broader South East region. We deliver both traditional and dormer loft conversion services to customers across a 25-mile radius. We also provide house extensions and garage extensions over the same area. This includes our many valued customers as far afield as Cobham, Guildford, Horsham, Leatherhead, Purley, and beyond.

Loft Styles

If you have a sloping roof, a regular loft conversion might not leave you with much in the way of head room. A dormer loft conversion is a way to counter that. The walls of the loft are extended upwards, to accommodate head space. This involves making a hole in the roof to fit in the new walls and ceiling. This box-shaped extension can then have its own roof fitted, usually one that matches the rest of the property.

Many properties in the UK have what is known as a hipped roof. This is a roof with a sloping long side, often restricting the amount of space available for a loft conversion. A hip-to-gable loft conversion is part dormer conversion, part house extension, and an effective way to make the most of your space. It extends your loft on the sloping side of the roof, effectively replacing that sloped edge with a vertical wall (or gable).

A Velux window is much like any other window you might have in your house. The only difference is that, rather than being installed into a wall, it’s installed into the roof. It’s an effective way to allow natural light into your loft or attic space. These windows are constructed to the same high standards as any regular window and incorporate the same security details. This allows you peace of mind, while also being an attractive, and practical addition.

Mansard conversion are much like dormer conversions. The differ in that dormer conversions extend through the roof, whereas mansard conversions raise the roof instead. What this means in practice is that the walls of the loft are extended upwards, taking the roof with it. This produces a shallower slope on the roof, while maintaining its structural integrity. Since the roof requires a little slope, you can’t always achieve the headspace you might have expected with a dormer.

A common peculiarity of Victorian and Edwardian era properties is the L-Shaped loft or attic. Running along two sides of the overall roof space, these lofts pose a challenge for any loft conversion company. Fortunately for our customers, the team at County Conversions has the skills, equipment, and experience to handle the situation. Working alongside you, our team will help you come up with a design that makes the most of the space you have to hand.

While we specialise in traditional and dormer loft conversions, the skills we employ are transferable to anywhere in the house. The team at County Conversions includes highly-trained carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, joiners, plasterers, and much more besides. Between them, they have the necessary talents to transform any room into something new and exciting. Our team will work with the existing structure of the room, building upon with a striking, innovative, and practical new look.
